As the scope of work expands with the start of concreting, an additional afternoon work shift is being introduced to ensure quality execution despite the high temperatures.
The enhancement of the Žnjan Plateau is progressing rapidly and in line with the planned schedule. Concrete works are currently underway at several locations, with the most significant efforts focused on the future public garage. Given the increased volume of work and the need to maintain high-quality standards, the contractor will introduce an additional work shift in the coming months. This shift will take place during the afternoon and early evening hours to ensure optimal conditions for the concrete. Concrete reacts differently at high temperatures, so performing certain tasks when the temperatures are lower and the work area is shaded from direct sunlight will help achieve better results.
- As we enter a period of extreme heat, it’s important to note that concrete performs better at lower temperatures. To accommodate the requirements of concrete installation technology, construction work will be extended into the afternoon and early evening hours, with the exception of Sundays and holidays. This adjustment will help us maintain our established pace and ensure that the project is completed as planned by next year. The extended hours are designed to minimize disruption, as the noise level is comparable to that of a passing car. We understand that residents and visitors may experience some inconvenience during this time. However, we believe that the temporary disruption is a small price to pay for what will be delivered—a stunning new beach and a range of public facilities that will enhance the community. n addition to the installation of reinforcement and concreting for the garage, several other key activities are progressing: Amphitheater: Installation of reinforcement for the amphitheater’s main structure is underway. Smaller Buildings: Concrete work is also being conducted on various smaller buildings across the site. Western Diving Board: Reinforcement of the lower part of the western ski jump structure is in progress. Eastern Diving board: Backfilling for the eastern ski jump has been completed. These efforts are crucial to maintaining our project timeline and ensuring the successful completion of the Žnjan Plateau development.
The company Žnjan is pleased to announce that the work on the beach designed for disabled individuals is nearing completion and will be available for use starting this week. We kindly ask all citizens to respect this space and prioritize its use for those who need it. Please note that all other beaches within the construction site will remain closed to the public for the duration of the ongoing works.
