SPLIT KRNJEVAL - Tradition revived again!
The ten-day manifestation of the Split Carnival culminated on Shrove Tuesday. As it was announced, with a combination of tradition and modernity, the Krnjeval, which for years was the biggest festival along Sudamja, came to life in Split this year.
On Shrove Tuesday, the masked people of Split took part in a children's parade in which the little ones had the main say, and there was no shortage of interesting masks. In the children's part of the program, Domenica, Čarobni animatori and numerous Split dance clubs performed, and Hajduk's 113th birthday was celebrated with cake and dance.
The very beginning was marked by the sirens of the emergency services and all employees represented by characters from Paw Patrols. Split was plowed like some years ago when the Carnival was prepared for months. Majorettes, brass band, mascots and numerous superheroes, princesses, fairies, athletes, sailors, pirates, wizards paraded in the masked crowd...

CAMBI FOR ANGELS
This year's program of the Split carnival included a charity evening with the group CAMBI. Held a concert for the Anđeli Association, and numerous other Split associations responded to this commendable action.
Singers, organisations, associations, cocktail masters, chefs, confectioners, all gathered to raise funds for the famous Split association
- This is the first time that the Split Krnjeval dedicated something to the Split association Anđeli, which takes care of children with serious illnesses. About 30 associations and exhibitors gathered, and all the proceeds go to humanitarian purposes - this year's masquerade Edita Lučić Jelić, temporary Split mayor of all the masquerades, and in three days again a radio host, told us briefly. Her Split is a little more relaxed, cheerful, has more dancing and writing..

The special surprise guests were the Angels themselves, residents of the association, who got on stage, ignored the stage fright and sang a couple of songs. The singers of the women's band Marjanka are responsible for this musical spectacle.
- To our great happiness and satisfaction, we have been organizing workshops with children from the Anđeli association for the third year already. We have extremely warm, beautiful and human experiences with them. These are the children who at the beginning shied away from loud tones and noise, but now they scream and dance together at music workshops. Among other things, in three years we managed to get as many as five children to perform, and that's a big deal - Iris Simonović, leader of Marjanki, did not hide her pride.

Concert of Indira Forza ex. Colonia
The Split carnival, which this year is a sign of love, is rounded off with a concert by Indira Forza ex. Colonia, which both young and old sang in unison. She danced the crowded masked Riva.
"Once again, Split and I confirmed the love we've had for years. This audience is special and always surprises me. My heart is full and I can't wait to come to Split again", concluded Indira.

The sailors from Muć who came to Riva by boat won the most applause.

"I am very pleased that so many people from Split recognised the rich programme, and also that the weather smiled on us, so the rain clouds avoided us so that the Split Carnival could be held as planned, in the most beautiful place in the world - the Split Riva", pointed out the event manager of the City of Split, Lorena Šipić.

Imagination was not lacking even among the slightly older ones, and their procession was led by bikers.
The procession paraded through the streets of Split to the finish line, St. Peter's pier, where this year's Krnje - "Sveti Pilan" - was burned.
The award for the best adult mask went to Robert Barbir from Pločan, who masqueraded as the Viking Floki and made the costume himself.

"Down in Ploče, we have an organized association for Baćin cat breeders. I have been doing it for many years because it is relaxation for me. I do a stressful and challenging job. I don't think I've ever taken as many pictures as I did tonight. For me, the most important thing is fun," said first-prize winner Robert
